SUCCESS STORIES

Meet Thea

Thea is ready for her forever home, could you be her happy ever after?

She is currently in foster with an amazing couple who are dedicating their time to helping Thea be not so reactive but this training will need to continue in her new home.

We'll be sharing an update on her progress soon

Age: 3 & 1/2 years

Other Dogs: Needs to be an only dog,

Cats: No

Children: Will be considered in a breed experienced home

Lovely girl who needs a home where she’ll be centre of attention

She's a lovely dog in her house with her people but needs someone tolerant and committed to helping her overcome her behavioural issues.

Below is a helpful detailed account from her current fosterers:
** Thea’s doing really well, she’s now a regular feature at our local pub which is always teaming with other dogs, absolutely no incidents at all, so long as she’s got a bit of distance she barely pays attention to other dogs now.

Her lead manners have come on leaps and bounds, she still has the occasional tantrum where she wants to pull but this doesn’t last more than a few seconds.

With the Australian family over she actually lived with an 8 and a 10 year old for 5 weeks, as well as an additional 2 adults in a bit of a cramped apartment with no bother whatsoever. She’s been off lead in family gardens with kids ranging from 2 – 12, once again without any issue so we’re more than confident she’s fine around kids.

Her behaviour in the car is unrecognisable, she sat for nearly 4 hours each way down to Manchester without a peep.

Her separation anxiety continues to be an issue; she’s fine to be left in an open space (like the living room) for about half an hour, however if she’s in any kind of enclosed space (her crate) she gets herself worked up really quickly. Having stayed at a few properties with gardens Thea is happy to wander back and forth so this would definitely be more advantageous for her in her forever home, as with garden access she’s considerably more independent.**

We must make sure that her new owner is dedicated to helping Thea overcome this problem. It means that a support system for Thea and her new owners must be put in place to ensure that there is always someone with the dog, at all times, every single day, for the foreseeable future.

We know that Thea's problems are able to be improved upon and that she deserves a loving home just like every other dog we have available. We just need to find the environment in which she'll flourish.
