Scottish Dobermann Rescue is entirely funded by donations and fundraising. As a small independent Scottish charity, we do not receive government funding — every dog we help is supported by the generosity of our community.

Donations help us cover essential veterinary care, neutering, microchipping, behavioural support, transport costs and everyday care for Dobermanns in foster across Scotland.

Every contribution makes a direct difference to the dogs in our care.

Operating across the whole of Scotland means our ability to help is often dependent on where we have volunteer support. We are always looking to expand our network with reliable, committed individuals who can assist with home checks, assessments, transport, fostering and other practical aspects of rescue work.

Our volunteers are at the heart of what we do. Without their time, dedication and support, we simply could not help as many Dobermanns across Scotland.

Fostering is a vital part of rescue, its the stepping stone between dogs being surrendered and finding their forever homes. While in foster care the dogs are assessed to find out what kind of home would best suit their needs, some dogs that come into our care have behavioural issues that can be worked on while in foster.

Fostering is something that most people with a passion for the breed can help with, the rescue can provide all the necessary things for looking after the dog, even food if needed. The idea is that we can have the dogs in a loving home environment but reduce the cost for the volunteers.

Someone who doesn’t work or maybe can commit to a dog full time would consider fostering as the costs can be covered by the rescue.

All necessary vet bills are covered by the charity while dogs are in foster.

Adoption is our end goal for these dogs, it provides a forever home for the dogs we take in and the adoption donation allows us to continue to help more dogs in need.

If you are interested in adopting a dog from our organisation, please get in touch. We will ask you to fill out an application form, arrange a home check and then hopefully match you to one of the dogs in our care.
